Don Roth, Ph.D., has been a distinguished figure in arts administration with over four decades of experience. The 2023 recipient of the Western Arts Alliance Emeritus Award, Don's illustrious career encompasses leadership roles in orchestras, educational institutions, music festivals, and presenting organizations. His extensive experience extends to serving on national, regional, and local boards. Throughout his career, Don made significant contributions in strategic planning, artistic initiatives, community engagement, arts education, and fundraising.
In the 1990s, In the 1990’s, Don chaired the Oversight Committee for the Orchestra Management Fellowship Program, which cultivated a new generation of leaders in symphony management. His unique background as a historian, with doctoral-level training, has provided him with a critical and reflective approach to his work, enabling him to navigate the complexities of arts administration with insight and wisdom.
Our coaching process begins with an in-depth, half-day session (available via Zoom or in-person) to assess and understand your needs, interests, and unique situation. From this initial meeting, Don will work with you to develop a regular schedule of meetings tailored to provide counsel and coaching on critical issues relevant to you and your organization. Typically, the coaching engagement spans 6-12 months, with additional check-ins available as desired.

Having led organizations, both as an Executive and a Board leader, during the tumultuous times of recent decades, I established this company to fill a need for personalized, practical and results-driven coaching services, and to help offset the isolation that emerging arts leaders often feel.
